Brandon Ziegler, owner of Zig’s Bakery and Café, grew an interest in baking at a very young age. “My parents started catering 25 years ago and at just ten years old, I learned to love it,” says Brandon with a smile. It all started with the pig roasts, and slowly transformed into an internship in Philadelphia, which then turned into Brandon purchasing a family bakery fresh out of college.
Zig’s Bakery and Café revolves around the Ziegler family, and many of them are involved in keeping the business going. They have two stands at the Lebanon Farmer’s Market and Lancaster Central Market, but sought out a larger location in addition to these venues. After actively searching for several years, the Ziegler family has found a perfect location: a barn on East Newport Road in Lititz, which they have restored.
Zig’s Bakery is now located in the original barn structure with stone walls and exposed wooden beams. The atmosphere feels open, friendly, and warm with several places to make yourself comfortable. Above the bakery is the brand new event space, Brick Gables, which is also owned by the Ziegler family.
Zig’s Bakery and Café specializes in breads, cookies, and pies, including items for holidays and special events. They also have canned goods, sodas, espresso and coffee drinks, food to go and deli items. Stop in and try their Moravian sugarcake, a Lititz favorite!
