In 1988, the busy and vibrant Shillington Farmer’s Market needed a bakery. That’s when Marsha Baron, mother of Amy Lloyd, and a friend decided to have some fun and created Dosie Dough. Marsha eventually left the market and expanded into their current location on South Broad Street in Lititz which Amy now owns and manages. Amy bought the business from her mom right after graduating high school at just 18 years old. Dosie Dough is a family-centered business. Amy’s mother, her brother, and even her 85-year old grandmother assist at their second location in Wyommissing.
Amy feels very lucky to be part of the Lititz community. “Lititz is a unique community. We have so many customers who are invested in supporting Lititz. It’s wonderful to be a part of a community that really embraces small businesses and wants them to succeed,” she says.
If you need a sweet fix, Dosie Dough offers cakes, pastries, sweet breads, scones, muffins and whoopie pies … and is a one-stop-shop for freshly roasted coffee, espresso drinks, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and even Achenbach’s donuts. Their lunch menu includes soups, salads, and sandwiches using fresh bread from Le Bus Bakery in Philadelphia. They sell a few vegan treats and always offer gluten free breads for sandwiches. They even make homemade peanut butter treats for the pooch in your life!
Dosie Dough will be open until 9pm every Second Friday with live entertainment on the patio during the summer.
