Taysted spent this past Sunday morning at Annie Bailey’s for brunch. Co-owner of Annie Bailey’s, Joshua Funk, recommended the Sausage Delight. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of the dish, however. The word on the street has been very positive.
I really can’t say enough amazing things about this dish. Traditional Irish bangers (sausage) and creamy country gravy were served over buttery, fluffy homemade biscuits. Two perfectly poached eggs are delicately placed on top of the biscuits and gravy. The dish is finished off with melted cheddar cheese. Served on the side are breakfast potatoes.
Everything was cooked perfectly and melted together. The sausage and gravy were slightly spicy but balanced by the buttery flavor in the biscuits and the gooey melted cheese. I loved dipping my potatoes in the gravy, too!
This amazing dish is available every Sunday for brunch.
