A café with the ability to happily accommodates guests with various dietary preferences and food allergies is wonderful, but rare. Look no further, however.
The owners of Our House Café, Sarah and Harvey Weinstein, not only care deeply about where food comes from, they also strive to serve their customers the freshest ingredients available. They source farm fresh ingredients locally and prepare virtually everything on their menu from scratch—with no shortcuts taken.
Their oversized, open kitchen with segregated preparation stations allows Chef Jennifer Thompson to prepare a plethora of truly gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options for their guests.
The café’s Classic Reuben Sandwich is the Weinstein’s homage to New York, their home. They decided to make a sandwich which was an authentic blend of New York, but using elements of beautiful Lancaster county. The delicious, mile-high sandwich features fresh and organic ingredients sourced from the farms nearby. They use house-made rye bread, homemade thousand island dressing, organic sauerkraut, corned beef free of nitrates, and creamy swiss cheese. The side of pickles are from Lancaster Pickle Company. The house coleslaw uses organic carrots and cabbage, and homemade mayonnaise. Even the butter they use to fry the sandwich on the flattop is organic butter from Oasis farms.
The Reuben is one of their top selling offerings (aside from build your own organic salad and freshly baked kettle-boiled kosher bagels). Stop in today for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They are open seven days a week, and also offer take-out, which you can order online at their website.
