I’ve always thought of salad as more of a spring or summer food. However, after tasting the Poached Pear Salad at Firepit, my perspective has been delightfully shifted. The salad, made of perfectly crisp baby spinach, is served with half of a pear which as been poached in White Zinfandel. Sprinkled on top of the salad are buttered pepper almonds (oh my gosh), shaved gouda cheese, and dried golden raisins.
The best part of the entire salad was the vanilla vinaigrette. It tasted like all of the cozy warmth you want to feel during a cold winter’s day. It was incredible. I actually wish they bottled it and sold it!
I can’t wait to visit again.
