Find Us At The Tap!

Whether it’s getting the chance to catch up with old friends, meet-up with a potential client, or simply get the team out of the office – nothing beats a delicious meal. Selecting the location can sometimes be cause for pause. Hmm, if only there was a place that could offer a lil’ something for everyone without compromising quality.

Luckily, for those of us living in or around Lancaster, the options continue to grow! Last week, our team had the chance to get together over lunch at the Federal Taphouse. With a loaded menu, over one hundred beers on draft, and plenty of seating so a wait is rarely a daytime dilemma – all we were responsible for was enjoying one another’s company!

Here’s what we had and how we felt about it!

smoked barbe sauce, celery

Now, here’s a quick twist on a staple I can really get behind. Capturing the goodness of an open flame without sacrificing all that is the mighty chicken wing! Smoky, slightly charred, nowhere near dry, and all the mess that one should expect when taking on a plate of wings.

roasted sweet corn relish, cotija cheese, three pepper aioli, bibb lettuce, guacamole.

Typically, you’ll think twice about ordering a black bean burger (which I did), but it’s nutritious front was quickly overcome by its meaty texture! It was more than satisfying and I enjoyed like a true burger.

pulled chicken, buffalo sauce, mozzarella, blue cheese crumbles, pickled celery

Even though I’m a huge wimp when it comes to spicy food, I rather enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. That being said, after two slices, my mouth was quite literally on fire. The taste was fantastic though – the bleu cheese added a nice compliment to the spiciness, and the ingredient that I was most wary about (the pickled celery) ended up being my favorite part about it. It adds a really nice “signature” taste that sets it apart from other buffalo chicken items I’ve had.

lump crab, cheddar, fontina, parmesan, old bay

Perfect balance of flavors. Neither the cheese or the crab overpowered one another. The crispy crust was the perfect addition of texture.

Beyond the fact that the food and beer was amazing, that team truly enjoyed themselves, and that the staff was as pleasant as it comes – we were impressed with how many daily specials and events they have to offer!

Make sure you don’t miss out and keep connected with the Federal Taphouse via their website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
