Aw, shucks! On October 1, 2016, Annie Bailey’s will be holding an exciting traditional Oyster Festival for the ninth year in a row. The celebration begins at 11am and will last through the day and evening until 1am.
The oldest international oyster festival in the world takes place in the last weekend of September each year in Galway, Ireland. According to history, the oyster festival was created to celebrate the beginning of the native oyster season, as they are only available when there is the letter “r” in the month (September through March. I did the math for you!)
Annie Bailey’s will gladly continue this tradition. The celebration will feature the following:
- Special oyster menu: over 1,500 oysters, from up and down the east and west coasts, will be available.
- Oyster shooters: At $6 each, the oyster shooters are vodka, cocktail sauce, and an oyster.
- Bloody Mary bar: At $5 each, you can create your own delicious Bloody Mary.
- Live Music: All day long, live music will be featured at the festival. This year’s special guests include: Celtic Rebels from 1:30pm to 3pm, Tuck Ryan from 5:30pm to 7pm, and Lancaster Sound, LLC (DJ Stoolie) from 10pm to 1am.
You won’t want to miss this huge annual event!
